The Grand Prize Draw will take place at the Meningitis Ball at the Crowne Plaza, Finnieston, on Saturday, 13th November 2010.

NEWS: MBE for Meningitis Assn Scotland Founder & Chief Executive
December 2009

Eileen McKiernan, Founder and Chief Executive for Meningitis Association Scotland, has been awarded an MBE for Voluntary Services to Healthcare.

The former Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year, has worked tirelessly to raise funds for research into the disease. Her involvement began after the tragic loss of her own son Lee McKiernan aged 17.

"I don't campaign to win awards like this, I do it for other reasons" said Mrs McKiernan. "I'm absolutely honoured and thrilled. It's a great testament to the scientists and physicians working in this fieldT
